Iran’s Supreme Leader vows “painful punishment” for Israel after airstrikes

13 June 2025 20:57

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has issued a strongly worded statement condemning Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian territory, warning that the “Zionist regime will definitely” face harsh retribution for its actions.

In a message addressed to the Iranian people, Ayatollah Khamenei denounced the early morning attacks carried out on June 13 by Israeli forces, which reportedly struck residential areas and resulted in the deaths of several Iranian commanders and scientists, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.

“The Zionist regime has committed a crime in our dear country today at dawn. It has revealed its malicious nature even more than before by targeting residential areas,” the Supreme Leader said.

He emphasized that the Israeli regime “should anticipate a severe punishment,” and assured that Iran’s armed forces would deliver a decisive response. “By God’s grace, the powerful arm of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces won’t let them go unpunished,” Khamenei stated.

Referring to the casualties among Iran’s military and scientific leadership, Khamenei said: “In the enemy’s attacks, several commanders and scientists have been martyred. God willing, their successors and colleagues will carry on with their duties without delay.”

Concluding his address, he warned of the consequences Israel should expect: “With this crime, the Zionist regime has prepared for itself a bitter, painful fate, which it will definitely see.”
