Iran’s top diplomat heads to Istanbul for urgent OIC talks on Israel strikes
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Istanbul on June 21 to attend a high-level diplomatic meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), where the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel will be a central topic of discussion.
The meeting will gather around 40 diplomats, including representatives from member states of the League of Arab States, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian press.
Araghchi’s visit to Istanbul follows his recent diplomatic engagements in Geneva, where he held talks with foreign ministers from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The Istanbul meeting is seen as a continuation of Tehran’s diplomatic efforts to rally international support in response to Israeli military actions.
“At this meeting, at Iran's suggestion, the issue of the Zionist regime's attack on our country will be specifically addressed,” Araghchi stated.
The OIC meeting is expected to focus on regional security and collective responses to the escalating Iran-Israel conflict.
