Iran says oil production, exports uninterrupted despite military strikes
Iran’s oil production and exports are continuing without disruption, a parliamentary energy commission spokesperson said on March 17, following recent strikes on military assets at the country’s main oil hub.
Esmaeil Hosseini, the spokesperson, said daily operations on Kharg Island, a key centre for Iran’s oil exports, were proceeding as usual, Iran International reports.
He warned that any foreign attack on the island could provoke a stronger response than previous actions in the Strait of Hormuz, where Tehran has restricted vessels it identifies as linked to the United States, Israel, and their allies.
The comments come amid rising regional tensions, with Kharg Island being strategically significant for global oil shipments.
