Iran says one officer killed, three wounded in attack on patrol in southeast

One police officer has been killed and three others wounded after armed attackers opened fire on a patrol in south-east Iran, state media reported on April 29.

The incident took place in the city of Zahedan, where officers were reportedly securing an area in Sistan and Baluchestan province when they came under fire, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

According to local reports, the attackers targeted the patrol without warning. One officer, identified as Mohammadreza Nezamdoost, was killed in the shooting, while three colleagues sustained injuries.

Authorities said a security operation had been launched to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
