Iran says pilots relied on paper maps during strikes on US bases

Iranian Air Force pilots did not use GPS or inertial navigation systems while carrying out strikes on US bases, the deputy coordinator of the Iranian Army Air Force said.

The official noted that the pilots navigated using paper maps and basic navigation tools without transmitting any signals, including radio communications, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

He said the absence of radio emissions enabled the operation to be carried out undetected, adding that the opposing side had not expected such an approach.
