Iran says Starlink equipment used for intelligence transfers
Police in Tehran said they had uncovered what they described as a “spy centre” in a residential apartment, where a satellite communication device linked to Starlink was discovered.
According to a police statement reported by Fars News Agency, the equipment was allegedly used to transmit information to foreign intelligence services and opposition networks operating abroad.
Authorities did not provide further details about those involved or the scope of the alleged activities, but described the case as a security concern.
In its statement, the police press service called on citizens to remain cautious and attentive, urging them to report any suspicious activity in residential buildings.
The statement emphasised the importance of public cooperation “to jointly prevent any abuses and security threats.”
