Iran says Turkmenistan denies transit permit to Tehran-Dushanbe flight

Turkmenistan has denied an Iranian plane an overflight permit, forcing it to return to Imam Khomeini International Airport, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation has stated.

Spokesman Majid Akhavan said the plane was flying from Tehran to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.

All flights operated by Iranian airlines to the United Arab Emirates had been reportedly cancelled from midnight.
