Iran says UK complicit after allowing US use of military bases

Iran's Foreign Ministry has condemned the British government's decision to allow the United States to use UK military bases for operations against the Islamic Republic, saying the move makes London complicit in US actions.

In a statement issued on July 23, the ministry said it would regard Britain's decision as "an act of aggression" against Iran.

It added that any support for such operations would be considered complicity in the US campaign and alleged "war crimes."

The statement came after reports that Prime Minister Andy Burnham had authorised the United States to use British military bases for strikes on Iran.

It was later reported that the United States deployed a B-1 strategic bomber for the first time since hostilities resumed, with the aircraft taking off from a British base.
