Iran says UN nuclear chief to visit Tehran

The spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi has said the chief of the UN nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, will visit Iran “in the coming days”.

Kamalvandi said that Grossi was scheduled to visit Iran in the coming days at the formal invitation of the head of the AEOI, Mohammad Eslami, the ISNA news agency reported on February 27.

Eslami on 22 February said that inspectors from the IAEA were in Iran and had inspected a site which recently came under international focus.

His remarks followed a Bloomberg report published on February 19 which said the IAEA was trying to determine if Tehran was enriching uranium to above 84%, which is just short of weapons-grade enrichment.
