Iran signals prepared response to US ceasefire proposal
Iran has prepared a response to the 15-point ceasefire plan presented by the United States, with Tehran rejecting it as “excessive, illogical, and absolutely unacceptable,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated.
Speaking at a press conference, Baghaei emphasized that Iran’s positions are grounded in its own priorities and national interests, SNN reports.
“We have compiled a list of our demands and interests based on our own priorities and considerations; we are not ashamed to openly state our legitimate and logical requirements,” he said.
Baghaei added that a swift and assertive presentation of Iran’s views should not be interpreted as a concession to the opposing side.
“We have prepared our responses, and if necessary, we will openly communicate how they will be conveyed. The fact that mediators transmit the positions of the parties is not unusual. These positions were conveyed through mediators from the very beginning, and it is natural that such an exchange of views continues,” he explained.
