Iran strikes missile depots in Israel, US base in Qatar
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out a new wave of military strikes targeting sites in Israel, a US military base in Qatar, and positions of anti-Iranian armed groups in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, the IRGC said the attacks were part of the 56th wave of Operation “True Promise – 4.”
In a statement cited by the broadcaster, the IRGC said it launched several high-precision missiles, including the Khorremshahr, Emad and Ghader, at strategic targets in Israel. The group claimed the missiles struck the logistics command of southern Israel and a missile depot linked to the Israeli defence company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems in northern Israel.
The statement also said a strike targeted Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military installation in the Middle East, located in Doha.
At the same time, IRGC drone units reportedly launched a series of attacks on positions of anti-Iranian armed groups in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
