Iran strikes US-owned oil vessel near Kuwait, spokesperson claims

Iran’s Khatam al‑Anbiya Central Headquarters, a joint command body overseeing the country’s armed forces, said it targeted a US‑owned oil vessel in the northern Persian Gulf, near the maritime approaches to Kuwait, and that the ship is on fire.

The spokesperson said the vessel was struck close to Kuwaiti waters and subsequently began burning. No further details were provided about the circumstances of the attack, including how it was carried out or whether there were any injuries aboard, Iran International reports.
