Iran thwarts major cyberattack on critical infrastructure
Iran has successfully thwarted a large-scale cyberattack targeting the country’s critical infrastructure, according to an announcement from Behzad Akbari, the CEO of Iran’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Company and Deputy ICT Minister.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Akbari revealed that the attack, which was both "complex" and "large-scale," was detected and neutralized by the efforts of the security and technical teams at the Telecommunications Infrastructure Company and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Caliber.Az reports.

“Thanks to divine assistance and the dedicated efforts of the security and technical teams, the attack was identified and preventive measures were immediately implemented,” Akbari said in the post.
The Iranian government has yet to provide further commentary or details on the identity of the attackers or the scale of the attempted breach.
