Iran to deliver hundreds of ballistic missiles to Russia soon Intel sources say
The White House has denied claims that Iran is training Russian military personnel in the use of the Fath-360 missile system or preparing to export these missiles to Russia for the Ukraine conflict.
While intelligence sources suggest that the delivery of Fath-360 missiles to Russia is imminent, they did not provide specific timelines or details about the status of the Abibal contract, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Additionally, a European intelligence source confirmed that Russia had sent soldiers to Iran for training on Iranian ballistic missile systems, though details remain sparse.
An Iranian official, speaking anonymously, stated that while Iran has sold missiles and drones to Russia, Fath-360 missiles were not among them, and there are no legal restrictions on such sales. The official emphasized that Iran does not control the use of these weapons by Russia.
Iranian support for Russia has so far been limited to Shahed drones, which are less capable than ballistic missiles. Delivery of such missiles could significantly challenge Ukraine’s missile defenses, which rely on advanced systems like the US Patriot and European SAMP/T.
Despite recent UN restrictions on missile exports expiring, the US and EU maintain sanctions on Iran’s ballistic missile program. There have been reports of increased military cooperation between Iran and Russia, but no confirmed transfers of Fath-360 missiles have been reported. Ukrainian officials have not reported finding Iranian missile debris.
