Iran, Türkiye hold talks on Strait of Hormuz security
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held a phone talk with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss regional security, including maritime safety in the Strait of Hormuz, a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on X said.
Araghchi underscored Iran’s determination “to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” describing the country’s strikes on US and Israeli military bases and facilities as measures exercised under its right to self-defense. He warned that the current instability in the region is a “direct result” of actions taken by Washington and Tel Aviv, Caliber.Az reports.

Fidan, in turn, highlighted the wider consequences of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and briefed Araghchi on recent consultations with regional partners. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Iran and neighboring countries.
