Iran, Türkiye pledge expanded cooperation during meeting in Tehran
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has met with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz in Tehran, where the two sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors including the economy, trade, energy, and transportation.
According to a statement posted by Yılmaz on the social media platform X, the meeting also took place on the sidelines of funeral ceremonies for Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Caliber.Az reports.

“In Tehran, where we are attending the funeral ceremony for the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, we sincerely share the grief that the brotherly people of Iran have experienced recently,” Yılmaz wrote.
He added that Türkiye would continue supporting efforts to promote regional stability and dialogue, as well as post-war normalisation processes.
“We will continue to work in cooperation with our colleagues to further develop bilateral relations with our neighbour, the friendly and brotherly nation of Iran, in all areas, particularly in the economy, trade, energy, and transportation,” the statement said.
