Iran unveils new attack drone Shahed-238 PHOTO/VIDEO
Iran has presented a new modification of the Shahed attack drone. The presentation took place at the Ashura University of Aerospace Sciences and Technology.
The presentation of the new product took place during the visit of the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khamenei to the university in Tehran, where he was shown the latest achievements of the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Caliber.Az reports citing Iranian media.
The exhibition presented a jet modification of the Shahed-136, called Shahed-238, in three versions with different guidance systems.
In addition to the classic version with an autonomous guidance system using an inertial system and GPS signals, modifications with infrared/optical and, probably, radar guidance systems were also presented.
The version with an infrared/optical guidance system can be used to destroy heat-contrasting targets, in particular, important military equipment behind enemy lines.
The fuselages of all three new products have a black colour that is uncharacteristic for Iranian drones, which may be due to the use of radio-absorbing materials.
