Iran vows major offensive after death of supreme leader

Iran is launching “the most intense offensive operation” in the country’s history, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said.

Israel and U.S. military bases will be the targets, as reported by the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The IRGC statement was published after Iranian state media confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. The military said the operation would begin in the near future.

Shortly before that, President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran would not leave the death of its Supreme Leader unanswered. He stated that those responsible for carrying out and ordering the killing would regret their actions.
