Iran vows to expand strikes, warns US bases within range
Iran's military campaign against what it calls "aggressors" will not only continue but widen to include US military installations in the region, according to a report published by the semi-official Fars news agency on Saturday, June 14.
Citing a senior political correspondent with access to top military leadership, Fars reported that Iran's retaliatory strikes, launched in response to Israeli attacks, are only the beginning of a broader confrontation.
“The war, which began as a result of the Zionist regime’s aggression, will soon engulf all territories occupied by this regime,” the unnamed source was quoted as saying. “It will also reach US bases across the region. The aggressors will face a harsh and large-scale response from Iran.”
The source stressed that the Iranian retaliation will not be limited to the strikes already seen. “This confrontation will not end with yesterday’s limited actions,” the official said. “Iran’s strikes will continue — and they will be painful and deeply troubling for the aggressors.”
The report follows Iran’s overnight missile and drone barrage targeting central Israel, which came after Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory reportedly killed senior commanders and nuclear scientists.
