Iran vows to keep oil flowing as US forces patrol Persian Gulf
09 February 2026 18:26
Mousa Ahmadi, head of Iran’s parliamentary energy commission, stated that the deployment of US warships in the Persian Gulf would not impede Iran’s oil exports, Iran International reports.
“We have learned how to bypass sanctions over decades, and the path we use to export our oil will continue,” Ahmadi said, emphasizing Tehran’s ability to maintain its energy shipments regardless of external pressure.
He further noted that he did not anticipate any major developments in the region, adding that there have been no official reports of Iranian oil tankers being seized in international waters.
