Iran vows to prosecute foreign powers, agents over recent unrest
19 January 2026 17:13
Iran’s Judiciary Chief, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, announced that authorities intend to prosecute not only foreign governments but also individuals accused of instigating recent protests both inside Iran and abroad.
Speaking to state media, Ejei said those deemed responsible for “causing” the unrest, as well as those who provided financial, political, or military support, would be treated as criminals, Iran International reports.
“Those who called for it, those who provided financial support, propaganda support, or weapons — whether the United States, the Zionist regime, or their agents — are all criminals, and each of them must be pursued,” he stated.
