Iran vows unrestricted retaliation after Israeli strike

13 June 2025 14:18

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has declared that there will be no limit to Iran’s response to what it called an unprovoked and redline-crossing attack by Israel, which killed several senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists.

In a second statement issued after the deadly strikes, Iran’s military command condemned the attack and stated that there will be “no limits to response to the terrorist Israeli regime which has crossed all redlines,” Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

The General Staff also paid tribute to the military commanders who were martyred in the attacks, noting that the Armed Forces “will definitely accomplish a terrible revenge.”

Among those killed were Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC); Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters; and at least six Iranian nuclear scientists, the statement confirmed.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, also issued a warning in response to the strikes. “With this crime, the Zionist regime has prepared for itself a bitter, painful fate, which it will definitely see,” he said in a televised statement.

The Israeli assault represents one of the most extensive direct attacks on Iran in recent years, both in scale and in strategic impact. The Israeli military has reportedly intercepted approximately 100 drones launched toward its territory.
