Iran warns neighbouring states over potential oil production freeze
Majid Mousavi, commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has warned neighbouring countries of the risk of a complete halt in oil production in the region if their territories are used for attacks against Iran.
He also stated that Tehran is ready to strike any targets if the Islamic Republic comes under attack, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
“If the enemy makes a mistake from this moment and launches an attack on this pure land, this time our target will be where you say,” Mousavi stressed.
According to him, Iran’s security is directly linked to stability in the Middle East energy sector.
“Our southern neighbours must understand that the use of their territory or facilities for hostile actions against the Iranian people will mean the end of oil production in the region,” he added.
