Iran warns Seoul against supporting US operations in Persian Gulf

Iran has warned South Korea against any military presence or participation in US operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said in a post on X.

The diplomat stressed that despite more than 64 years of bilateral relations, Tehran would regard Seoul’s involvement in US initiatives as “direct support for the aggressor,” Caliber.Az reports.

According to Baghaei, any military presence or participation in another country’s operations in the region “will inevitably have serious consequences.”

At the same time, Baghaei said the Islamic Republic continues to attach great importance to its friendly relations with South Korea. He stressed that countries should not succumb to pressure from Washington and become “accomplices in acts of aggression” against Iran.
