Iranian ambassador commends Armenia for assistance, transport support
Armenia has provided significant humanitarian assistance to Iran, as well as support for the transport of Iranian citizens, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami said.
“We have maintained continuous dialogue with the Armenian authorities and remain in contact at the political level, conveying Iran’s stance on this aggression and affirming its right to self‑defense,” Shirgholami told reporters, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Addressing concerns over a potential refugee influx, the ambassador dismissed such reports, noting that the border between the two countries is functioning normally.
He added that, due to the suspension of flights from Iran, some passengers are arriving in Armenia and then traveling onward to their intended destinations.
Shirgolami emphasized that daily life in Iran is continuing as usual despite the ongoing regional tensions.
