Iranian army chief warns US, Israel: Protests are none of your business
Iranian Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami warned that any miscalculation by hostile powers would be met with a decisive response, stressing that protests in Iran are an internal matter and not the concern of the United States or Israel.
Speaking to students at the Army’s University of Command and Staff in Tehran, Hatami said the readiness of Iran’s Armed Forces has significantly increased since the war imposed on the country in June 2025, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
“If the enemy makes a mistake, it will face a much more decisive response. We will cut off the hand of any aggressor,” he said.
Hatami criticised the intensification of hostile rhetoric and foreign interference in Iran’s domestic affairs, describing such actions as a threat that would not go unanswered. He also condemned economic sanctions, saying they are aimed at harming ordinary Iranians, adding that while Iran faces domestic challenges, external powers have sought to exacerbate them.
The army chief further stressed that the livelihood-related and professional protests taking place in the country are independent of external actors, referring specifically to the U.S. president and the “criminal prime minister of the Zionist regime.”
He noted that, despite public demonstrations, the people have refused to align with rioters, maintaining their own path rather than following a framework allegedly desired by foreign leaders.
