A Bell 214 helicopter of the Iranian army fired the missile codenamed Eghtedar (Authority) 1402 in the province’s Nasrabad district on October 28, within the second day of the extensive exercises.
It hit the specified target perfectly from a distance of 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) away and utterly destroyed it, Caliber.Az reports citing Tehran Times.
The Haydar missile is equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS), which gives the pilot total control over the projectile and allows it to fly in the direction of the target.
Its length is said to be 3.83 metres, and its weight is around 40 kilogrammes. Within tens of kilometres, the air-to-ground missile can kill both fixed and mobile targets. It can carry a 20-kilogramme payload.
