Iranian Army unveils three cutting-edge vertical takeoff, landing drones for ground forces
Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Nozar Ne’mati has announced the induction of three advanced vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) drone systems into the military’s arsenal.
Ne’mati said that the first of these drones, named Homa, can operate at altitudes above 12,000 feet and is equipped with night vision technology, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Notably, the Homa does not require a runway for takeoff or landing, making it highly versatile for various reconnaissance missions. The second drone, Didban, is described as a lightweight and portable system with both day and night vision capabilities. It is designed to fly at an altitude of approximately 6,000 feet and excels in precisely locating targets during reconnaissance operations.
Ne’mati also highlighted the Shahin-1 FPV, a cutting-edge drone engineered to address emerging threats in future warfare scenarios. This drone boasts extended flight endurance and the flexibility to operate at multiple altitudes, allowing it to effectively engage both fixed and moving targets.
