Iranian Caspian Airlines plane seized over €3 million debt in Istanbul

An aircraft operated by Iranian carrier Caspian Airlines was detained before takeoff at Istanbul Airport, with passengers removed from the plane and the aircraft placed under arrest, Haber Global reported.

The aircraft, bearing registration number EP-KPB, was seized over a €3 million debt owed by the operating airline.

The aircraft was prevented from departing Istanbul for Iran after lawyers representing the creditor company and court enforcement officers intervened at the airport.

As part of the legal proceedings, the aircraft was placed under arrest, and its scheduled flight was cancelled. Passengers were subsequently removed from the plane.
