Iranian drone flies near US aircraft carrier For second time this week
On February 21, an Iranian drone carried out its second long-range flight this week toward the Arabian Sea, where the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is currently deployed.
According to data from the aviation tracking service Flightradar24, cited by Interfax, the unmanned aerial vehicle was launched from southeastern Iran. It flew over the Gulf of Oman and reached an area of the Arabian Sea east of Oman’s coastline.
Satellite imagery from the European Sentinel-2 system indicates that the USS Abraham Lincoln is operating approximately 700 kilometers off Iran’s coast and about 300 kilometers east of Oman.
Earlier, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that the aircraft carrier was located 500 miles (around 800 kilometers) from Iran.
