Iranian FM: Khamenei survived US-Israel strikes

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, is reportedly still alive “as far as I know,” according to the country’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, in an exclusive interview with NBC News.

Speaking live following joint airstrikes by the US and Israel, Araghchi confirmed that two Iranian commanders had been killed but emphasized that senior officials in the regime had survived the attacks.

NBC News noted that it has not independently verified these claims.

Araghchi also criticized the US and Israel for carrying out the strikes while nuclear negotiations with Iran were still ongoing, describing the attacks as a destabilizing move.
