Iranian Foreign Ministry reaffirms military readiness amid regional tensions
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has reiterated the constant readiness and preparedness of the country's Armed Forces to respond to any potential threats, stating that the military is continuously improving and maintaining its capabilities to deal with various contingencies.
In a weekly press conference, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei addressed recent reports from Reuters suggesting that Iranian military forces had been placed on high alert, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Baghaei confirmed that Iran has indeed heightened its military readiness but emphasized that the country is committed to ensuring regional stability and security.
"The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are constantly improving and maintaining their level of readiness to deal with any possible contingency," Baghaei affirmed.
His comments were made in response to claims that Iran had warned neighboring countries against allowing their territory to be used for hostile actions against Iran.
In terms of regional relations, Baghaei highlighted that Iran considers the security of its neighbors an essential component of its own national security.
"As a strategic principle, the security of neighbors and the security of the region is an inseparable part of the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
Reiterating Iran's diplomatic stance, Baghaei emphasized that the country has never participated in coalitions aimed at attacking its neighbors.
"We have never participated in any coalition aimed at attacking neighboring countries, but have always pursued a policy of good neighborliness, regional cooperation, and avoiding creating tension," the Iranian senior diplomat said.
"In practice, we have also tried to inform our neighbors about the consequences of adventurous actions, whether from the Zionist regime or extra-regional actors," he added.
