Iranian judiciary chief: US cannot impose maritime blockade on Iran

The head of Iran’s judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, has stated that the United States does not have the capability to impose a maritime blockade on Iran.

According to Iran International, Ejei made the remarks while commenting on regional security and ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf.

“Americans should know they do not have the ability to impose a maritime blockade on Iran,” he said, adding that past unsuccessful operations could be repeated in the Persian Gulf.

His comments came in response to recent statements by US officials, who have claimed that a maritime blockade of Iran’s southern ports is ongoing.
