Iranian lawmaker claims new leader survived multiple strikes

An Iranian lawmaker has claimed that Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed leader of the Islamic Republic, survived two attacks in recent days, Iran International reports.

Mohammadreza Rezaei Kouchi, a member of parliament representing Jahrom, told the state news agency IRNA that Mojtaba Khamenei was present at the Supreme Leader’s residence alongside Ali Khamenei when what he described as an “assassination attempt” occurred.

Rezaei Kouchi added that a second attack targeted a hospital where the “third leader of the Islamic Republic” was reportedly present, stating that the United States and Israel “failed to achieve their objective.” He did not specify the hospital or the location of the alleged strike.

Speaking to media, US President Donald Trump suggested that Mojtaba Khamenei may have been wounded during the initial US and Israeli operations.

“I think he probably is. I think he’s damaged, but I think he’s probably alive in some form,” Trump said.

Mojtaba Khamenei released his first public message on March 12, but no images or video of him have been published since his appointment nearly a week ago, fueling widespread speculation about his health and whereabouts.
