Iranian MFA spokesperson: Regional issues should be handled internally
30 June 2026 17:21
Iran has dismissed the need for external involvement in issues concerning the Strait of Hormuz, warning that outside intervention would only complicate the situation.
Speaking at a press briefing in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaiel Baghaei said any foreign intervention in matters related to the strategic waterway "will not be done with good intentions and will only lead to more complicated situations," Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Baghaei also said that mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz is already addressed under an existing memorandum of understanding, arguing that there is no need for other countries to intervene in the region on the issue.
