Iranian military denies launching missile toward Turkish territory

Iran’s Armed Forces have denied launching any missile toward Turkish territory and said they respect Türkiye’s sovereignty. 

“We respect the sovereignty of our neighbouring and friendly country Türkiye and deny any missile launch toward it,” the Iranian General Staff said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports via Clash report.

Earlier on March 4, Türkiye's Ministry of National Defence announced that a ballistic missile launched from Iran was detected heading toward Turkish airspace. It was successfully intercepted by NATO air and missile defence systems in the eastern Mediterranean.
