Iranian MP comments on Strait of Hormuz: "Now enjoy the status quo"
A senior Iranian lawmaker reacted on Saturday, April 18, to reports suggesting that the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous operating status, emphasising that earlier warnings had gone unheeded.
According to Caliber.Az, Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s parliamentary committee on national security, addressed the developments in a post on X.
"We warned you, but you ignored it.
Now ENJOY the Strait of Hormuz returning to the status quo :))" he wrote.
Azizi’s remarks appeared to reference prior Iranian warnings issued during heightened tensions over maritime security in the strategically critical waterway.
The Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy transit route, has been at the centre of regional tensions, with disruptions raising concerns over shipping, energy markets, and broader geopolitical stability.
