Iranian Parliament speaker vows to render Israel “helpless” in ongoing conflict
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that the Iranian Armed Forces will render the “savage” Israeli enemy helpless, emphasizing the adversary’s disregard for any red lines in the ongoing conflict.
Addressing an open session of Parliament, Ghalibaf described the recent nights as a nightmare for the Israel and expressed confidence that the perpetrators and instigators of its crimes would face inevitable regret and punishment, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
“The Zionists’ nightmare over the past nights and the great fear of the perpetrators and instigators of the Zionist regime’s crimes will continue until the aggressor’s regret and punishment,” he said.
Highlighting the resilience of Iranian forces, Ghalibaf asserted, “The Iranian forces will give the enemy hell and the world will witness its misery.”
He warned that the current state of affairs was extraordinary, underscoring the enemy’s ruthless tactics: “We all must understand that we are in an extraordinary situation and our savage enemy does not adhere to any red line. Although the final victory is certain, it is natural that this path has its ups and downs.”
Reiterating the unity of the Iranian nation, he said, “The Iranian nation with various ethnicities and tendencies has become united in the face of the savage enemy and supported the Armed Forces.”
Ghalibaf praised the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Army for demonstrating their formidable military capabilities under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. He claimed their efforts have shattered the perceived invulnerability of the Israeli regime. “Forces from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Army displayed their high power and military prowess to the world under the wise leadership of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and mocked the myth of the Israeli regime’s invulnerability,” he said.
Describing the conflict as a hybrid war, Ghalibaf accused Israel of conducting cognitive warfare alongside its military aggression. “The enemy carries out its acts of aggression in a hybrid war centered around cognitive warfare,” he stated.
He also noted that the threats posed by Israel have strengthened domestic unity: “Threats by the barbaric Israeli regime have created a great opportunity to reinforce unity among people.”
The comments follow the launch of the IRGC’s retaliatory campaign, dubbed Operation True Promise III, which began on June 13 evening. This followed a large-scale Israeli military strike, supported by the United States, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential areas in Tehran and other cities.
Operation True Promise III was initiated shortly after a televised address by Ayatollah Khamenei, who vowed that the “despicable” Israeli regime would be “rendered helpless” by Iran’s armed response.
The Israeli attacks resulted in the assassination of several high-ranking Iranian military figures, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including women and children. Notable among the casualties were Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami; Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC Aerospace Division; and General Gholam Ali Rashid, a senior IRGC commander.
