Iranian president arrives in Armenia for two-day official visit
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Armenia for a two-day official visit.
The Iranian president was welcomed at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Following his visit to Armenia, the Iranian president is expected to travel to Belarus, Armenian media sources say.
Ahead of his upcoming visits to Armenia and Belarus, President Pezeshkian held meetings with senior officials in Tehran. According to information published on the official website of the Iranian president, discussions focused on potential cooperation with Armenia and Belarus in the fields of energy, transport, trade, investment, healthcare, environmental protection, science, culture, and tourism.
The parties outlined key challenges and opportunities for cooperation, as well as strategies for addressing them.
The talks also touched on upcoming agreements and memorandums of cooperation between Iran and Armenia, as well as between Iran and Belarus, stressing the importance of their timely implementation.
On August 19, as part of the Iranian president’s visit, an Armenian-Iranian business forum will be held in Yerevan.
