Iranian president condemns strike on school in Minab
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned U.S. and Israeli strike on a primary school in the southern city of Minab, calling it a “barbaric act” and expressing condolences to the victims’ families.
In a statement released by his press service, Pezeshkian said the attack marked another dark chapter in what he characterised as a long record of aggression against Iran. He described the strike as inhumane and said he shared in the deep grief of the families of the victims, the residents of Minab and the wider Iranian nation, Caliber.Az reports.
Local authorities reported that at least 64 people were killed and 93 injured in the strike on the school in Minab, located in Hormozgan province. Officials said most of the victims were schoolgirls. However, the city prosecutor said the death toll from the Israeli strike on the elementary girls’ school had risen to 85.
