Iranian president expected to visit Yerevan
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to pay an official visit to Armenia, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced on June 5.
Speaking at a joint session of parliamentary committees during discussions on the 2024 state budget execution report, Mirzoyan highlighted the ongoing high-level diplomatic engagement between Yerevan and Tehran, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
“We are expecting President Pezeshkian in Yerevan,” the minister said, emphasising that reciprocal visits at the highest levels continue to strengthen bilateral relations between Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In late April, the Iranian president visited Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation across various sectors. During the visit, the two countries signed a series of agreements aimed at deepening collaboration in areas such as economics, trade, energy, and transportation.
Key documents signed included a Political Consultation Program between the foreign ministries for 2025–2027, a Memorandum of Understanding on transportation cooperation for 2025–2026, and an agreement on mutual recognition of seafarer training and certification standards. Additionally, the two sides signed a 2025–2028 Cultural Exchange Program and a Memorandum on Media Cooperation.
