Iranian president hails ceasefire as national achievement

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the recently announced ceasefire with the United States, describing it as the result of national effort and sacrifice.

Writing on X, Pezeshkian said the agreement, which reflects the general principles sought by Iran, was “the fruit of the blood of our great martyred leader Khamenei and the achievement of the presence of all the people on the scene," Caliber.Az reports.

He added that from this point forward, Iranians would remain united across all spheres, including diplomacy, defence, public demonstrations, and service provision.

Additionally, during his phone call with Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian “confirmed that Iran would be participating in the negotiations in Islamabad”, the PM Office says.

“Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact,” the statement added.
