Iranian president: Hegemonic powers striving to divide Tehran-Islamabad amicable ties

13 April 2024 09:41

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari said that domination-seeking countries are striving to sow seeds of discord between the two countries.

President Raisi congratulated the reelection of Zardari as president of the Republic of Pakistan and expressed hope that the bilateral relations between the two countries will be further expanded to secure the benefits of the two nations, Tasnim reports.

Iran and Pakistan have a lot of potentials and capabilities to expand interactions, he said, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran hopes those potentials will be employed in the process of expanding ties.

Raisi also hailed the faith and bravery of the youth of the Islamic Ummah (community) in rejecting various seditions, including ISIL sedition, emphasizing that the development of relations between the two countries is not welcome by the domination-seeking powers.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raisi pointed to the continuation of crimes and genocides of the Zionist regime against Palestinians in Gaza and noted that freedom-seeking and independent countries should cooperate jointly to stop the crimes of this child-killing regime.

The president of Pakistan, for his part, condemned the terrorist attack by the Zionist regime against the diplomatic mission of Iran in Damascus and emphasized that his country is keen to expand relations with Iran in all areas.

Zardari assured President Raisi that Pakistan will continue to work closely with Iran in all areas of mutual interest and strengthen the ties further.

He also emphasized the need to increase the exchange of information to overcome the security challenges shared by the two countries.

The Pakistani president went on to invite President Raisi to visit Pakistan.

Expressing his concern about the humanitarian crisis and the genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli occupying forces, he called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
