Iranian president: Regional policy driving distance from US, Israel

10 June 2026 15:31

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on June 10 that policies pursued under Supreme leadership were aimed at reducing regional countries’ alignment with the United States and Israel.

Speaking on regional dynamics, Pezeshkian said external actors had sought to mobilise Arab and Muslim states against Iran, but that these efforts were being countered, Iran International reports.

“The policies being pursued today, and which our dear leader is following, are also defeating this plan, so that regional countries distance themselves from the United States and Israel, and this process is moving forward,” he said.

He added that he had met Iran’s Supreme Leader every week without exception over the past year and a half.

Pezeshkian also said Iran’s adversaries were attempting to deepen internal divisions, arguing that no country could be forced into submission through bombing or threats.

Commenting on the killing of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, he said it was unacceptable that enemy forces could “so easily” kill Iranian commanders and officials.

He further said that attempts by Iran’s adversaries to destabilise the country would not succeed.
