Iran provides update on ambassador appointment to Azerbaijan
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the process of appointing a new ambassador to Azerbaijan is currently underway.
Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei provided the update during a briefing, expressing hope that the appointment will be finalized in the near future, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Baghaei's comments come amid ongoing discussions about strengthening bilateral ties between Iran and Azerbaijan.
The spokesperson also mentioned that discussions are ongoing regarding the planned visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Baku. Negotiations are currently underway between the Iranian and Azerbaijani authorities to finalize the timing and details of the visit.
The appointment of a new ambassador is seen as a step toward further enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, reflecting a commitment to solidifying ties in the coming months.
