Iranian Speaker Ghalibaf hails China ties as "true partnership"
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has described relations between Iran and China as a “true partnership” during a meeting between Iran's special representative for China affairs and the Chamber of Commerce.
He said the relationship should not be viewed as that of a client or a simple trading partner, but as a strategic partnership in the fullest sense, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
“In any emerging regional alliance, Iran and China will be present together, and I am firmly moving in this direction. We are not merely a client or a trade counterpart for China, but truly a partner in every sense of the word,” Ghalibaf noted.
The meeting also focused on ways to develop sustainable economic cooperation, achieve tangible results in bilateral ties, Iran’s role in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and related issues.
