Iranian speaker warns US actions threaten shipping in Strait of Hormuz
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that U.S. actions are endangering maritime security and energy transit through the Strait of Hormuz, amid escalating regional tensions.
In a post on X, Ghalibaf said the security of shipping and energy transit has been "threatened by the United States and its allies due to the violation of the ceasefire and the imposition of a blockade,” Caliber.Az reports.

He added that a “new equation” is emerging in the strategically vital waterway.
“We fully understand that the continuation of the current state of affairs is unbearable for the U.S., while we haven’t even begun yet,” he added.
US President Donald Trump announced Project Freedom, US military plan to guide stranded commercial ships out of the Strait of Hormuz, on May 4, claiming the US had been asked by countries "from all over the world" to help free their commercial ships which were "locked up" in the strait.
