24 February 2025 20:13

Iranian Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif has expressed strong support for the acceleration of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, stating that reaching a peace agreement is in the best interests of all countries in the region.

Zarif made these comments during a meeting with Armenian Ambassador to Iran, Grigor Hakobyan, in Tehran, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

The Iranian official emphasized that the regional potential could be harnessed to address key regional issues, with the goal of fostering stability and cooperation.

During the meeting, Zarif further highlighted the importance of developing regional cooperation and the commissioning of communication lines, within the framework of international laws and regulations. This, he suggested, could serve as a valuable step in addressing outstanding regional concerns and promoting peace in the South Caucasus.

The meeting also covered other topics of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of constructive dialogue and the pursuit of lasting peace in the region.
