Iranian vice president says US responds only to "language of power"

Iranian Vice President Esmail Seghab Esfahani has said the United States does not understand the “language of goodwill” and only responds to the “language of power.”

Esfahani made the remarks amid heightened regional tensions, arguing that diplomatic engagement alone is insufficient in dealing with Washington, Iran International reports. 

He also claimed that if Iran’s armed forces had not delivered what he described as a “crushing response” at Qatar’s LNG facilities, the “enemy” would have gone on to target the country’s remaining infrastructure and energy sector.
