Iranians return from Türkiye to support country after strikes photo
The number of people at border crossings between Türkiye and Iran has increased following recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
According to the Turkish broadcaster NTV, Iranian citizens who had been staying in Türkiye have begun returning to their home country.
A particularly large flow of people has been reported at the Kapıköy border crossing in the Saray district of Van, one of the key checkpoints along the Türkiye–Iran border. Turkish authorities have suspended regular daily passenger traffic at the crossing, while cargo transportation continues to operate under controlled conditions.

Iranians waiting to cross the border said they had originally travelled to Türkiye as tourists but decided to return home after the outbreak of hostilities.
“We are returning to support our country,” they said.
Local authorities and border services are maintaining order at the crossing and assisting people in safely passing through the checkpoint. The increased movement of returning citizens has also been accompanied by tightened security measures on the Turkish side of the border.
